Policeman With Only Fools And Horses Tattoo Finds It's Spelt Wrongly – Daily TV round-up

A policeman who spent two years having an elaborate 'Only Fools and Horses' tattoo has found that part of it is spelled wrong.

29-year-old Sam Hall, who serves with the Metropolitan Police, spent £700 and 40 hours of his time having the huge tribute to the BBC comedy series inked on his ribcage.

The huge inking features the faces of Del Boy, Rodney, Granddad, Trigger, Uncle Albert and Denzel, along with the show's famous Reliant Robin.

It also boasts the sign for the Trotters' residence at Nelson Mandela House, and another sign for 'Hookie Street', as mentioned in the show's closing title song.

However, 'Hookie Street' is in fact spelled 'Hooky Street', according to the song's official lyrics.

Hall, who lives in Eltham, south east London, has admitted that his partner Laura hates the body art.

“I started getting it done two years ago - it's my favourite show - every episode is a classic.

“Laura hates it though, and she thinks it's rubbish. But I'm covered in tattoos so she's got to get used to it, I suppose.

“I did lots of research and other people have tattoos of 'Hookie Street', as well as 'Hooky Street' or 'Hookey Street', so I don't think it's wrong.”

“I don't care what people think of it, I love it and that's the main thing,” added Hall, who is now leaving the force to become a taxi driver.

“The last bit I had done was the writing. It was painful but worth the effort.” [Daily Mirror]
